This is today’s huge announcement, "Operation Blue Genius", the arrival of the american organization Evil Geniuses (EG) on Rainbow Six. Well known for their performances on Dota 2, Halo or Call of Duty, Evil Geniuses acquired the Continuum roster composed of Canadian (C), NvK, Yung, Necrox, BC and BKN, their manager.

BKN joined them at the beginning of season 3, reorganized the team and let them come back under the spotlight cTm had left since their 6 Invitational win. The players, lead by Canadian, achieved an incredible last season, losing only one map against Most Wanted during the first Playoffs day. They became the undisputed champions of their region after they won 2-0 against 1nFamy on  the last day of the Playoffs.

This news is also a huge step forward for the R6 professional scene. Thanks to their remarkable rosters on many games, EG is an influential organization, the only one of this scale on the R6 scene. Having an organization like EG is a good sign for the game and gives hope that others  like it will join the competitive R6 scene and guarantee good support. Of course cTm will have to train hard to be ready to beat ENCE, but the latter have a sad record of only one match won in six entries. If they beat ENCE, cTm will have to win against two other contestants if they want to claim a second world title.

EG’s COO and the Captain and IGL of the new EG roster reacted to this news on EvileGeniuses.gg :

"At Evil Geniuses, we have been eagerly watching the growth of the Rainbow 6 esports community for some time. When we got the opportunity to pick up the Continuum squad who have been the face of R6 in North America, we had to dive in.

EG always enter into any new game with the intent of bringing our winning tradition to new fans and helping expose our existing fans to the highest level of esports they haven’t yet known.

The whole squad will be in Chicago this week bootcamping in the SteelSeries offices in preparation for the upcoming Pro League Year 2 Season 3 Finals. I and everyone here at EG can’t wait to cheer on the team in Brazil and watch them #BleedBlue for the first time."

-- Philip Aram, Evil Geniuses COO

"As someone who has followed esports across multiple different titles for many years, I’ve always looked up to and tried to learn from different players and teams — not only just as a player, but as a captain and leader as well. To be joining a team like Evil Geniuses, which has been and still is the home of some of these players which I have idolized, is nothing short of an honor for myself personally.

This is also a huge step forward for the R6 esports scene in general, as this is the first of what I hope will be many big organizations stepping into the space. This will surely help propel the scene forward and continue to grow to what I know it is capable of.

I speak on behalf of everyone on our team when I say this is not an opportunity we will take for granted, and we will put forth the effort to bring home championships and make those who #BleedBlue along with us proud."
